Persoalan di Mentawai yang selama ini kita lihat dan alami terasa tak pernah berujung, perjuangan demi perjuangan selama ini yang dilakukan oleh LSM dan Masyarakat Adat seakan berbenturan dengan pola dan Sistim yang berlaku di Bumi Indonesia. Sedangkan di tingkat pusat sendiri, masalah Politik seakan tak tentu arah, masyarakat bingung dengan situasi yang kacau balau, siapa sebenarnya yang menciptakan semua ini?
    Kita tidak tahu pasti, tapi dari beberapa catatan sejarah Mentawa yang pernah tersirat, adalah adanya "Keinginan/ Kemauan" yang dipaksakan dalam Tatanan Budaya Masyarakat Mentawai yang jelas sangat bertolak belakang, namun dengan kekuasaan dan kekuatan, hal itu terus di paksakan. Akhirnya masyarakat tergilas, tertindas dan bahkan haknya sebagai manusia juga dihilangkan. Sampai kapan ini berakhir..???
    Tak pernah ada yang bisa menjawab secara pasti kapan berakhirnya semua ini, dimana kepentingan beberapa kelompok merenggut hak rakyat. Pertanyaan itu kembali dilontarkan kepada kita, sampai kapan kita tetap menikmati penindasan ini..??? Dalam catatan Revolution Indonesia, Agama dan Partai bukanlah cara satu-satunya mempersatukan Rakyat Indonesia, tapi itu hanya simbol yang penuh teka-teki yang tak pernah bisa dijawab sampai sekarang, karena itu terus berubah seiring dengan perkembangan zaman. Para pembaca kami yang budiman catatan kembali meggoreskan tinta emasnya yang berbunyi "Budaya dan Adat istiadat lah yang bisa mempersatukan Negeri Ini", apakah ini sesuai dengan fakta???. Itu tidan mungkin bisa kita pungkiri, Masyarakat Adat se Indonesia telah memulai itu dalam Forum Aliansi Mayarakat Adat Nusantara, dalam bendera Masyarakat Adat kita bisa merasakan nasib yang sama, perjuangan yang sama dalam melepaskan diri dari Lingkaran kekuasaan yang semena-mena. Di akhir catatan ini kita berharap, semoga kita bisa kembali menghidupkan api perjuangan masyarakat adat, kita harus yakin bahwa kita tidak berjuang sendiri, saudara kita juga masih tetap berjuang seperti kita.

It feels as if the problems that we have been witnessing and experiencing in Mentawai up until now will never end. The struggles upon struggles that the LSMs and the Adat Community have been engaging in seemingly collide with the order and the system which operates on the ground in Indonesia, yet within national politics it would appear that there is no clear direction with the community confused with what is a chaotic situation. So who is behind all this?
    We do not know for certain, but between the lines of the Mentawai historical record is "Desire/Longing" enforced within the Mentawai Community Cultural Order in which the opposite is achieved. Yet with power and might this situation is imposed. In the end the community is crushed, oppressed to the point where even their rights as human beings are also lost. When will this end..???
    There has not yet been anyone who can answer with certainty as to when all this will come to an end, where the interests of a number of groups appropriate the rights of the community. This question is thrown back at us. Until when can we continue to enjoy this oppression..??. In the records of the Indonesian Revolution, Religion and Party Politics are not the only ways to unite the people of Indonesia. That is only a symbol replete with riddles for which there have not been any solutions up to the present, because it continually changes in line with the particularities of the circumstances at the time. Wise readers, our notes again inscribe in gold ink that "It is precisely Culture and Custom which can unite this Nation". Is this in accord with the facts??? We cannot possibly deny that. The Customary Community for the whole of Indonesia has already begun in the Community Alliance Forum of Indonesia. Under the banner of the Adat Community will be able to take the same lifepath and struggle in freeing ourselves from the arbitrary Circle of Power. At the end of these notes, we may hope that we can reignite the struggle of our Adat Community, and be certain that we are not alone, since our brothers continue to struggle as we do.
